Deep winter snows at the cabin

At times, there can be plenty of snow at the cabin! The cabin is at 1500 feet. You can check the webcam at the nearby Resort at the Mountain to see what the current conditions in Welches are. There is also a webcam from the Oregon Department of Transportation for Highway 26 at Government Camp.

Old Salmon River Trail

About a five-minute drive from the cabin, you can walk along the beautiful Old Salmon River trail, an easy, level hike through old-growth forest alongside the river banks. In the autumn, you can see two-to three-foot salmon spawning in the river.
